Major Winter Storm Expected to Severely Impact Southeast Transit
We are following a significant winter storm system expected to impact a large portion of the Southeast beginning Friday and continuing through mid-next week. This high-impact storm is forecast to bring widespread snow, ice, and freezing temperatures across the region, creating hazardous travel conditions and major transportation disruptions.
Current forecasts indicate that parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, the Carolinas, and surrounding states could experience ice accumulation and up to a foot of snow. Road conditions may become impassable in some areas for extended periods, and power outages are possible. As a result, major transit delays should be expected throughout the Southeast.
Please note the following anticipated impacts:
Major delays across the Southeast from Friday through mid-next week
Northbound freight into the Southeast may be impacted toward the end of this week
Greer, SC operations are expected to be impacted Sunday through Tuesday
Reduced carrier capacity and limited terminal access in affected areas
Our teams are actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with carriers to prioritize safety and minimize disruption where possible. Customers with freight moving into, out of, or through the Southeast should plan for extended transit times and consider contingency options for time-sensitive shipments.
