Great Lakes Winter Storms May Impact Transit Times
We want to make you aware of adverse winter weather conditions developing across the Midwest and Great Lakes region that may impact commercial transportation over the coming days. A series of winter systems is bringing heavy lake-effect snowfall and Arctic air to the region, with conditions expected to persist into next week.
Significant snowfall is forecast across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and key cross-border corridors into and out of Canada. Some areas downwind of the Great Lakes may receive more than 6–12 inches of snow, with isolated locations potentially exceeding a foot of snow. Strong winds and dropping temperatures will further reduce visibility and create hazardous driving conditions, increasing the likelihood of transit delays, particularly for cross-border and regional movements.
